Buyer’s Guide to Shopping Online in Nepal

We choose shopping online because it’s supposed to save time and effort. But it’s a fairly new concept in Nepal and sometimes may feel like it’s just not worth the frustration when the products or services disappoint us as customers.

Truth be told, in this constantly improvising market, companies like ours come across completely new situations on a day to day basis. We saw eCommerce make a difference abroad and tried to revolutionize shopping here too. In a span of less than 5 years, we have a decent online shopping activity in Nepal. Yet, there are plenty of pain points we are always trying to take care of.
First things first, as companies, we might have focused on customer acquisition with SALE on cheapest deals rather than quality and that’s our wrong focal point! Thus, resulting in a grave distrust among our customers.

In the span of over three years that we’ve been on ground, there have been overwhelming number of both complaints and appraisals, and numerous instances of self realizations for us to put together a buyer’s guide to a happy online shopping experience for you all. We will try to make it more general, but it may lean on to become more apparel-centric for obvious reasons. Please brace yourself- this will be long, but hopefully useful.

1. Read Descriptions — Knowledge is Power.

Depending on resources and information available, online stores will offer you description on the size, material, style, and even washing instructions if necessary. Make sure you read them all before buying. If any information as such is missing, ask for them before you make a purchase.
Ideally, compare the mentioned length, size(asian/european), and fit type (slim/regular/loose) of the product with your current clothes that fit rather than your body.
